The Practitioner
This work began as a personal investigation, not a professional project. Ten years of continuous somatic practice — joint mobility systems, directed attentional training, respiratory protocol research — preceded any advisory application. The move into executive contexts was not strategic; it followed the repeated observation that the performance variables most consequential to C-suite decision quality were precisely the variables no clinical or advisory discipline was actively managing. The practitioner behind AWARE has operated across corporate advisory environments for five years while maintaining a daily somatic practice. The methodology is applied to the practitioner before it is applied to any client.
The Methodology
Three practice lineages — movement-based somatic work, directed attentional training, and controlled respiratory protocols — share a common physiological substrate that modern neuroscience has mapped with increasing precision over the past two decades.
Proprioceptive input from the musculoskeletal system feeds directly into interoceptive processing networks in the insular cortex, influencing both autonomic regulation and the accuracy of threat-assessment. Joint mobility work is not rehabilitation — it is signal quality improvement at the level of the body's real-time reporting system.
Directed attentional training in the Vipassana tradition produces measurable shifts in prefrontal cortex engagement with limbic signals. The mechanism is not relaxation — it is trained non-reactivity: a functional inhibition of the threat-response cascade that can be developed through consistent practice and that produces measurable reductions in baseline sympathetic activation over time.
Controlled respiratory protocols activate parasympathetic response through vagal afferent pathways with sufficient reliability that the intervention has clinical applications in cardiac rehabilitation. Respiratory work at specific frequencies produces measurable increases in heart rate variability within a session and shifts the resting autonomic baseline over weeks.
Where executive coaching works with the content of decisions — strategy, communication, leadership approach — this methodology works with the operating state of the system that makes those decisions. The two address different layers. They are not competing.
Privacy
All client communications are conducted via end-to-end encrypted channels. No session notes are stored in cloud systems accessible to third parties. Client identity is never disclosed in any context — not in case studies, not in professional references, not under indirect inquiry.
A mutual non-disclosure agreement is standard before the first substantive conversation, not an option available upon request.
The engagement produces no digital trail accessible to professional associates, institutional networks, or corporate IT infrastructure.
Engagement Structure
Three formats are available: a single diagnostic session, a monthly retainer, and what AWARE terms Absolute Access — a format with no practical constraints on availability, response time, or session frequency.
The appropriate format becomes clear during the initial diagnostic. Most clients begin with the diagnostic and do not require guidance on what follows.
The Practice describes the three protocols in detail. For those ready to establish a baseline, Get Access is where the engagement begins.
